• The Volkswagen Golf was introduced in the mid-70s as an attempt by Volkswagen to redeem the then falling sales of the cult classic beetle. Whilst the beetle was truly an impressive car, and an innovative model, Volkswagen really out did themselves with the VW Golf which has passed the test of time with flying colours, it has remained competitive since 74 and it shows no signs of backing away from the market as it is still as popular as ever.

The Golf is currently in its 6th generation with the Mk7 expected to arrive in the very near future. The current model ran from 2008 and was built on the same platform as the Mk5 which came before it, demonstrating an element of contingency between the Golf models.
